Megan Nielsen, MTCM, L.Ac.
I wholeheartedly believe that conventional + alternative therapies can co-exist to complement one another, and that using both yields the best results.
Integrating my Human Biology degree from Stanford University with my Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the goal is to alleviate symptoms and support your optimum health & wellbeing.

“Megan is a gifted practitioner. Her depth of knowledge across a range of medical disciplines is impressive and she has always been incredibly interested and compassionate”
Integrative Health Practitioner
I started all this headed in a different direction.
I was planning to pursue a career in Public Health and Western Medicine. After completing my Bachelor Degree in Human Biology, I spent a year at The Esalen Institute, a holistic health centre in California. It was there that I witnessed the complete awesomeness of the human body. Our health is truly a mind/body/soul experience.
A passion for internal medicine, women’s health, obstetrics, paediatrics, dietetics, orthopedics, detoxification acupuncture, and five element acupuncture.

Qualifications & Expertise
Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology from Stanford University, USA, followed by a year studying various holistic modalities at the Esalen Institute.
Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, USA.
Studied in Hangzhou, China to complete an Advanced Internship Programme at the Zhejiang Medical Hospital, witnessing the integration of TCM and Western Medicine first-hand in hospitals and clinics.
Volunteering experience at a Women’s Clinic and Birthing Centre in Bali, where, working alongside midwives, my passion for maternal care was truly born.
I continued studying in China, completing an advanced internship program at Zhejiang Medical Hospital, working alongside Chinese doctors practising both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine. While in school, I completed two extensive internships in Bali apprenticing with midwives and paediatricians at a birth centre.
This experience triggered a passion for women’s health which encouraged me to undertake training in this field with a focus on fertility and pregnancy. This has been the heart of my practice for over a decade.
In California I worked extensively with fertility specialists throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, at Stanford University, at the University of California SF, at the Pacific Fertility Center and at the Reproductive Science Center, integrating rapidly changing western fertility practices with complementary alternative care.
I am presently in the middle of a two-year advanced mentorship program with Debra Betts, NZ nurse graduated from the London City College of Acupuncture and acupuncturist extraordinaire who has dedicated her life’s work to pregnancy, research, and qualitative and critical analysis.
“Wisdom tells me I am nothing. Love tells me I am everything. Between the two my life flows. ”

Women’s Health Focus
“I’m interested in women’s health because I’m a woman. I’d be a darn fool not to be on my own side.”
